Our core service

Lawn Mowing in Toowoomba & Surrounds

A properly mown lawn isn't just short — it's even, cleanly edged, and cut at a height that keeps the grass healthy rather than scalped and stressed. That's what we turn up and do, every visit, on a schedule you never have to chase.

The equipment difference

The right mower for every part of your block

Most operators run one mower and make every lawn fit it. That's why you end up with scalped high spots, missed corners, and an uneven finish along fences and garden beds.

We match the machine to the ground. Commercial-grade zero-turn ride-on mowers — Toro Z Master 52" and Bushranger 54" RZ — for acreage, large blocks and open areas. Fast, even coverage without the rushed finish you get from pushing a small mower around a big property for hours.

Large commercial push mowers — the Toro TimeMaster wide-cut — for medium-to-large house blocks. Wide-cut pace without sacrificing quality. Compact push mowers — Masport 19" and Ego 21" — for tight, awkward and hard-to-access areas: gated side accesses, courtyards, narrow strips between fences.

Then Stihl KombiSystem KM 94 and Ego tools for edging, trimming and detail work, plus a Stihl SH 86 shredder vac and blower for a clean finish.

On most properties we'll use two or three of these in a single visit. That's what gives a consistent, sharp result across the whole block rather than just the easy parts.

Every single visit

What's included as standard

Mowing at the correct heightSet for your grass type and the season — not one height applied to every lawn regardless.
Precision bladed edgingAlong paths, driveways, garden beds and borders. A proper bladed edge, not a rough whipper-snip.
Whipper snippingAround fences, trees, posts and anywhere the mower physically can't reach.
Full blow-downPaths, driveways and hard surfaces blown clean so the property is left spotless.
Clippings managedCaught and removed, or mulched back in where that's better for the lawn.
A look over your lawnIf we spot thatch, compaction, grubs or a weed problem starting, we'll tell you before it spreads.

No surprise extras for the basics. Edging is part of the job, not an add-on.

Getting it right

How often should your lawn be mown in Toowoomba?

It changes through the year, and getting it right matters more than most people think — letting a lawn get too long and then cutting it hard removes too much leaf at once and stresses the grass.

Warm months (September to March): weekly to fortnightly. Growth is at its strongest, and this is when regular mowing keeps a lawn thick and even.

Cool months (April to August): every three to four weeks. Growth slows right down, and at elevation — Highfields, Cabarlah, Hampton, Mount Kynoch — frosts slow it further. Warm-season grasses go dormant and golden after a hard frost; that's normal, and frosted grass is best left uncut.

Acreage and rural blocks often work better on a longer cycle with a heavier cut, and we'll work out the right rhythm for your property.

The part most people get wrong

Mowing height matters more than frequency

Cutting too short is the most common mistake we see, and it causes more problems than it solves. Scalping a lawn exposes the soil, dries it out faster, weakens the roots, and opens the door for weeds to move into the thin patches.

Leaving a bit more leaf does the opposite: it shades the soil, holds moisture in, and keeps the grass thick enough to crowd weeds out on its own.

That matters especially on Toowoomba's free-draining red Ferrosol and the lighter, drier country to the north and west, where the surface dries out fast in summer. We set the height to suit your grass type and the season — a little lower through the strong growth of spring, higher through summer heat to protect the soil.

One-off work

Overgrown lawns and one-off jobs

Not every job is ongoing. We also handle first cuts on overgrown lawns — no lawn is too far gone, and we won't turn down a job because it's a mess. Plus pre-sale and pre-inspection tidy-ups, vacate and tenant changeover cleans for rentals and property managers, holiday cover while you're away, and one-off tidy-ups before an event.

Overgrown blocks take more on the first visit, then settle into normal maintenance pricing once they're back under control.

Regular clients sit on an automated recurring schedule in our job-management software, so services don't get forgotten. You get a reminder with your ETA the day before, an on-the-way message on the day, seasonal recommendations prompted at the right time of year, and an invoice after the job payable by direct debit — no chasing cash at the gate.

Common questions

Lawn mowing FAQ

How much does lawn mowing cost in Toowoomba?

Every quote is free and priced on the property rather than a flat rate. The main factors are lawn size, access, how overgrown it is on the first visit, how often you'd like us, and any extras. Ongoing service is priced better than one-offs, and you get a clear upfront price before we start.

Is edging included or an extra?

Included. Precision bladed edging is part of every standard mow, along with whipper snipping and a full blow-down. We don't charge separately for the basics.

Do you take the clippings away?

Yes — clippings are caught and removed as standard. On some lawns mulching them back in is better for soil health, and we'll recommend that where it applies rather than doing it to save a trip.

Do I need to be home?

No, as long as we can access the areas that need doing. You'll get a reminder text the day before so you can unlock gates or move cars, and we'll let you know when we're done.

My lawn is badly overgrown — will you still take it on?

Yes. No lawn is too far gone. The first visit takes longer and is priced separately, then it settles into normal maintenance pricing once it's back under control.

Do you mow in winter?

Yes, but less often — every three to four weeks rather than weekly. Growth slows right down, and at elevation frosts slow it further. We won't cut frosted grass; it damages the leaf. The schedule stretches naturally and your invoicing follows it.

Do you mow acreage?

Yes — commercial zero-turn mowers handle large blocks efficiently. See acreage and rural mowing for detail. We don't do paddock slashing or fire breaks.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. Ongoing service runs on a recurring schedule for convenience, not a lock-in contract. Pause, change frequency or stop whenever you need to.

Will I know when you're coming?

Yes. You'll get a reminder with your ETA the day before your service, and an on-the-way message on the day with the estimated minutes until we arrive. Regular clients sit on an automated recurring schedule, so services don't slip through the cracks.
