Before you choose anyone
Licensed, insured, and accountable in writing
Anyone can buy a mower and a trailer. Very few can hand you a licence number, a certificate of currency and a signed safe work method statement the same business day. Here is exactly what we hold, and what each piece of it means for you.

What you are usually offered, and what you get here
This is not about anyone being a bad operator — plenty of good people mow lawns around Toowoomba. It is about what you can actually verify before you hand someone your gate code, and who carries the risk if a job goes wrong.
Ask any operator for these. Licence numbers take about a minute to check on Queensland's public register, and any real insurer will issue a certificate of currency naming you. If a contractor cannot produce them, an incident on your property — a stone through a window, spray drift next door, someone hurt on site — can end up your problem instead of theirs.
What we do
One crew for the whole property
Most people find us for the mowing and hand over the rest before long, because it beats juggling three contractors and three invoices. Where it makes sense, all of it happens on the same visit.
Lawns.Regular mowing with bladed edging, whipper snipping and a full blow-down included every visit, acreage and rural mowing on commercial zero-turns, and lawn renovation — scarifying, core aeration, top dressing and fertilising. We do not do paddock slashing or fire breaks.
Gardens.Garden maintenance, hedge trimming and pruning, licensed weed control, garden overhauls and rock beds, and cleanups with green waste removed for vacates, pre-sale tidy-ups and blocks that have got away.
Beyond the house.Commercial grounds maintenance for working sites, strata and body corporate common property, childcare and school grounds, and short-stay and rental turnovers.
Exterior cleaning. Pressure cleaning, gutters, soft washing, concrete sealing, windows and solar panels run through our sister operation TopWash, booked and scheduled through the same office.
Small tree removal up to five metres is fine. Anything taller goes to an arborist — we would rather refer it than pretend.

How we work
Owner-operated, and the same faces every visit
TopLawn is a family business running out of Highfields since 2022. Hannah handles scheduling and the back office, Zac and Tom are on the tools with me, and we put on casuals through the growing season. You get the same crew on your property visit after visit, which is how they come to know where the sprinkler heads sit and which gate sticks.
Regular work runs on an automated recurring schedule so a service never quietly slips a week. A reminder with your ETA goes out the day before and an on-the-way message on the day. There is no lock-in — stretch the interval over winter, tighten it up in spring, pause or stop whenever you need.
The gear matters more than most people expect. Toro Z Master 52-inch and Bushranger 54-inch zero-turns for acreage and large blocks, a Toro TimeMaster wide-cut for mid-size yards, and Masport and Ego push mowers for courtyards and narrow side accesses. Stihl KombiSystem powerheads cover line trimming, bladed edging, hedging and pole pruning. Renovations run on a Cox scarifier and a Powermow commercial aerator. Turning up with the right machine is the difference between a clean finish and a job someone else declined.
Skill and care
Getting it right is a judgement call, not a checklist
Two lawns twenty minutes apart can show the exact same dry patch and need opposite treatments. Up the range on red Ferrosol — Rangeville, Middle Ridge, Highfields — that patch is almost always hydrophobic soil, and a wetting agent breaks the coating. Out west on the black cracking clay it is compaction, where a wetting agent does nothing at all and core aeration is the fix. A contractor who treats every lawn the same way gets it right about a third of the time. We identify the soil first, then decide.
The same thinking runs through the small calls nobody sees us make. We will not cut frosted grass, because it tears the leaf and the damage shows for weeks afterwards. Clippings come away as standard, but where mulching them back is genuinely better for the soil we say so rather than quietly doing it to save a trip to the tip. Bladed edging on every mow instead of a line trimmer waved along the concrete. Proper underlay beneath a rock bed so the weeds are still down in two years, not just this month. Nobody inspects any of that. It is the difference between a yard that looks done and a yard that looks looked after.
Being thorough costs us rather than you, and that is the entire reason we quote the job instead of the hour — an hourly rate charges you for our care. Four years in, across more than fifty suburbs, with a five-star record and every quote still priced by me personally. If something is not right, we come back and put it right — no arguments, no extra charge.
The credentials
What we actually hold
When it matters
The paperwork is really about what happens when something goes wrong
A stone through a window. Spray drift onto a neighbour's roses. Someone hurt on your property. On a good day none of it matters and any operator looks the same. On a bad day it is the only thing that matters, and an uninsured or unlicensed contractor working on your land can leave the liability sitting with you.
When you call, you get me, not a call centre. I quote your place personally, and if anything is ever not right we come back and put it right — no arguments and no extra charge.
Property managers, strata committees and facility managers can pull the full document set from our compliance and insurance page without waiting on an email chain.
