Pricing, straight

A Fixed Price for the Job — Not a Meter Running

We don't charge by the hour and we don't do surprises. You get a firm price before we start, it doesn't change because a job ran long, and the basics — bladed edging, whipper snipping, blow-down — are never extras.

Why by the job

Hourly rates punish you for hiring careful people

With an hourly rate, thoroughness costs you money — the slower the mow, the bigger the bill, and you only find out the total once it's done. Quoting the job flips that: the price is agreed up front, so being careful is our cost, not yours. A job that takes longer than we planned is our problem, not your invoice.

It's also why we don't publish a one-size price list. A tight courtyard and a half-acre corner block are not the same job, and flat rates quietly overcharge the small blocks to subsidise the big ones. Your price is built on your property — and it holds.

The inputs

What shapes your price

Lawn sizeA compact courtyard versus full acreage — the single biggest factor, and why one flat rate can't be fair to both.
AccessTight, gated, sloped or awkward areas take longer and may need the compact mower.
Condition on day oneAn overgrown first cut takes more than routine maintenance and is quoted separately — then it settles into normal pricing.
FrequencyOngoing weekly, fortnightly or monthly service is priced better than one-offs, because routes and predictability cut our costs — and we pass that through.
ExtrasHedging, weed treatment, fertilising or green waste removal on the same visit — priced clearly, never slipped in.
No travel feeDistance is factored into the quote, not added as a surcharge — anywhere in our service area.

Fast and firm

Most quotes come back the same day

Send a few photos of the lawn and the access with your address and most quotes can be priced the same day, without a site visit. Bigger or more complicated properties get a walk-through so the number is right the first time.

Once you're on the books there's no lock-in contract — ongoing service runs on a recurring schedule for convenience, and you can pause, change frequency or stop whenever you need. You'll get a reminder the day before every visit and an on-the-way message on the day.

Common questions

Quoting FAQ

Do you charge by the hour?

No. Every job is quoted as a fixed price for the defined work, agreed before we start. Careful work is our cost, not your risk.

Is the quote binding?

Yes — the price you accept is the price you pay. If what we find on the ground is genuinely different from what was described, we talk to you and re-confirm before doing anything.

Why is ongoing service cheaper than a one-off?

Scheduled rounds by area mean less travel and no re-learning your property each visit. Predictable work costs us less to deliver, so it costs you less to buy.

Do I need to be there for the quote?

Usually not. Photos and an address are enough for most properties; larger or complex blocks get a walk-through at a time that suits.

Is edging extra?

Never. Precision bladed edging, whipper snipping and a full blow-down are part of every standard mow — the basics are the job, not add-ons.
